ASSIGNMENT. Mood / atmosphere
Capturing a mood or the atmosphere of a place or event is never easy. This is because we experience life around us through not only our eyes but also our whole being. However, creating images that convey an atmosphere or mood is very satisfying and exploring the different techniques to do this is worth the effort. Here is a selection from Wifie members.

This is a wonderful selection of images exploring the mood and atmosphere we find in nature, the crashing of waves and the mood found in misty days or down on the beach ....alongside some low key images with their dark tones.
In this selection of photographs Wifie members have explored how light and exposure can influence the colour and therefore the mood of an image. The high key images with lovely soft tones contrasting with the amazing rich colours are all great examples for this assignment.
INSPIRED BY...
Street Level Gallery, Glasgow.
Brutal Scotland. An exhibition by Simon Phipps.
This was a great day out for Wifie members and we all found this exhibition both interesting and inspiring. Architectural photography is not a subject of interest amongst Wifie members in general and the buildings constructed in concrete in the 1950's - 70's are those that most of us are inclined to ignore. However this exhibition really brought the significance of these building to light and provided some great conversation, reflection and personal stories. I particularly enjoyed how the exhibition was presented, incorporating elements found in the adverts, typography and colour of the architectural magazine, 'Manplan' from the late 1960's to early 1970's, a style memorable of constructivism.
Wifie members are now invited to create their own work in response to this exhibition.
