In The Spotlight
Showcasing individual WIFIE members

I had always enjoyed taking ‘snaps’ with my little Kodak camera, but only seriously got into photography 15 years ago through a mental health initiative. My first attempts were darkroom-processed black and white images but I really took to colour photography after photographing the local festival mardi gras. My first photograph therefore is one taken at this time and although I did not consciously see the reflections in the euphonium as I took the photograph, I was told it was a clever shot.
I have taken countless images since but really like my second which I took on a visit to Venice. I love the colours in this.
My final image is one which became a Christmas card design. Taking this photograph, I discovered exposure compensation and also learned how to add text during editing.
