Port Seton
Workshop. September 2025
Wifie members arranged to meet up at Port Seton Harbour for this camera workshop. The session started with a look at some illustrations and examples around Depth of Field and focal point before going on to talk about the exposure triangle. The exposure triangle is all about the combination between your Aperture, Shutter speed and ISO setting and the choices that you make with these different settings impact on how your image is captured. Although these are some of the basics in photography it is helpful to remind ourselves about them from time to time.
Following our photography chat we decided that we would explore the harbour with Composition in mind as well as looking at shape and colour.

These are wonderful images taken by Maddy, Margaret Munro and Yvonne during our visit to Port Seton. Although it was a dull day the colours and textures have been captured perfectly and make for very interesting and dynamic images.
The following images by Maddy, Molly and Yvonne are great examples of the use of colour combined with shadows and light to help define compositional elements and shapes.
For this project Lorraine provided a couple of beautiful photographs with compositional elements taken in natural light whilst Olga captured these scenes with strong triangle shapes within her compositions.
Margaret Thomson gave us a lovely selection of different images where she has explored composition, shape and colour in different ways.
